With this new article, we are going to let you know all about wine and cheese pairings. So, you all probably know that wine and cheese go together like peanut butter and jelly. And you are absolutely right! However, contrary to PB&J, there are many more kinds of wines and cheeses and it can sometimes be tricky. So, we thought we would give you a bit of advice regarding some great pairings that you can try at home or even at restaurants.
The first wine and cheese association is Cream Cheese and Champagne. This may seem unusual but the bubbliness of the Champagne makes the Cream Cheese taste amazing!
In order to be safe, you can always pair your wine and cheese from the same region or geographic area (it will work great most of the time). For example, Brie and Pinot Noir will go together really well.
So, will a nice Pinot Grigio with Ricotta.
The last wine and cheese pairing we would recommend is Roquefort and Sauternes. Both have a strong taste and will be amazing together. If you love Sauternes, it also goes very well with Foie Gras.
Obviously, these are only suggestions, which you may or may not like. Chances are that if you don’t like a type of cheese, the wine is not going to make it taste better because the whole point is for it to enhance its taste. The thing is that you don’t want the wine to overpower the cheese and vice versa. So, we encourage you to try these and also try making your own pairings. Let us know about your favorite wine and cheese pairings so we can try them as well!
